Kabeer's Newborn Pictures

Time has gotten away from me, and I realized I never did post Kabeer's newborn pictures!  As I mentioned in a previous maternity post, my friends Rahul and Mitu had a sweet baby boy, Kabeer, in July.  I had the opportunity to shoot his "newborn" pictures when he was about 4 weeks old at his home.

This was a very special shoot because it was so reminiscent of my very first newborn shoot, Kabeer's sister Ria, who is a year older than Kabeer.  I was able to capture some similar shots of Kabeer that I did of Ria, which I think would look pretty neat side-by-side in a frame or photo book.  I also had the opportunity to hang out with and get some pictures with Mitu's mother and sister, who had travelled from India to meet the baby.  This is not really just a newborn shoot; it is a celebration of family!

Mitu has gotten so used to my poses, I did not have to set this up!  She said, "We should kiss now."

Kabeer fell asleep, so of course I had to put him in something strange!

Thanks again, Rahul and Mitu, for letting me help document your family's growth!!!

Jackie's Graduation Pictures!

My beautiful friend Jackie graduated from FSU with a PhD in August, and I could not think of a better way to honor her and her accomplishments than to do a photo shoot for her and her husband before they moved away to their new jobs.  Thankfully, she agreed, so Jackie and Eric took me to FSU to do some on location pictures.

Eric also graduated with his PhD some time last year, but he chose not to walk.  Good thing I caught him trying on Jackie's fun hat since he didn't get one of his own!

Sorry, I couldn't resist putting a new twist on my classic wedding bouquet pose!

This is where Jackie spent most of her time at FSU!

This is Jackie's dissertation.  A smarter photographer would have gotten a shot of it where you could read the title!

I would be jumping up and down if I had just finished about 20 years of schooling, too!

Thanks, Jackie and Eric, for letting me use you for graduation picture guinea pigs, and for wearing long sleeves in 312 degree weather!  We are so proud of everything you've accomplished!!!
