Pure Freedom 2012!

I had a first-time experience last Monday: I had the opportunity to worship while I worked!  I shot Pure Freedom - Tallahassee at Bradfordville First Baptist Church.

Pure Freedom is a ministry focusing on helping young ladies stay sexually pure.  This particular event was designed for high school aged girls AND their moms.  It is chock full of meaningful worship, Biblical teachings, and a whole lot of fun!

In the days leading up to the event, I flip-flopped from excited to nervous to petrified every few minutes.  This was my first event of this caliber.  I would be dealing with stage lighting and a large group of people, not to mention my subjects would be established recording artist Stephanie Peters and author/speaker Dannah Gresh.  No pressure there!

But all of my worries were in vain because the event went wonderfully!  Everyone was super accommodating for me and quick to ease any fears that I had.

Here are some of the best pictures to represent the evening!

The event was sponsored by our local Christian radio station.

Indeed, there were TRUNK MONKEYS.

I started out with taking pictures of merch because it was a lot like taking pictures of wedding/party decorations.  You know, I had to ease into it!

Ready for the event to begin.

The ladies trickled in slow enough that I got to get a picture of **almost** all of the moms with their daughters.  I have never had more agreeable subjects!

I don't usually do this on this particular blog, but I want to take a few sentences to endorse this ministry.  You see, not only did I get to shoot the event, but I got to hear and see EVERYTHING, so I actually got to "attend" the conference myself.  I believe this is a powerful ministry and attending one of their events can be life-changing for both moms and daughters.  My daughter is only 6 and I am already mentally planning to make sure I do something like this with her as soon as she's old enough.  Even if Pure Freedom never comes to your area, I think adding some Dannah Gresh to your arsenal of parenting books would be a very good move!

Thanks so much to my friend Meredyth and the rest of the WAYfm team for inviting me to do this.  It was a privilege!
